Favorite Songs: Part XIV


I love Deadmau5 so much. He makes fun music, songs that you can dance to and also songs that are meaningful as well. Seeya Next Tuesday is the fun type, the kind that you would hear in the club or being played in a bar by someone with good taste. Its tough to have a favorite song by him because really so many qualify, but this one is certainly up there.

Favorite Songs: Part XI


There is something truly joyful and catchy about this track, which I can’t quite put my finger on but I like it regardless. Half Mast is a band that I stumbled onto thanks to a YouTube recommendation, and I want to explore more of their songs and hopefully find an album or two from them in the future as well.

Polica’s Dark Star was a track I first heard on NPR’s Night Music, which they have every week night from 7 PM to 5 AM. Its a great program, because it helps me listen to songs I’ve never heard before-particularly this sexy, funk infused track with lush vocals.

Favorite Songs: Part VI


Night Moves-Colored Emotion is a cool glass of water. Its the type of song that if you were a radical DJ, you’d play during a slow dance between lovers, or a wedding reception even. Because you don’t play the same old shit that everyone hears at those types of events. Plus that stirring guitar cord at the beginning takes my breath away.
